Wayne Butler

March 16, 1952 ~ April 23, 2017 (age 65)

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday April 27, 2017 at Amazing Grace Baptist Church for Wayne Butler, 65,  of Hokes Bluff who went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2017.  Rev. Roger Butler, and Rev. Heath Bowman will officiate.. Burial will follow at Jones Chapel Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery is in charge of the services.


Wayne was a member and trustee of Amazing Grace Baptist Church.  He attended Hokes Bluff High School. Wayne was in construction and did dry wall most of his life.  He was working at Composite Technologies in Oxford when he became ill.


He is preceded in death by his daughter; Lindsey Brooke Butler, grandson; Legend Cain Ynoir, parents; Mason and Nora Butler and sisters; Dean DeBerry and Betty Bobbitt.


He is survived by his wife of 9 years; Geneva Butler, three daughters; one grandson, three stepsons, six great grandchildren, chosen son; Curtis Sims, chosen granddaughter; Chelsey Sims, sisters; Maxie Johnson and Saundra (Ray) Carnes, brother; Donald E. Butler, and a host of nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers will be Dave Bobbitt, Jarod Bobbitt, Scott Gray, Alex Gonzales, Dekota Ogle, and Trent Ogle.


Honorary pallbearers will be members of Amazing Grace Baptist Church, special friends; Joe and Pam Wheeler, Ruth Casey, Nelma Hammonds, Kathy Bowman and Ed Santiago.


Special thanks to Southern Care Hospice, nurses Darryl Laroy and Penny Lambert.


The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday night at the Funeral Home.


The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
