Linda Louise Burke, a lifelong resident of Anniston, Al passed away on February 23, 2018 at the age of 75 after a long illness. The family will receive friends at 12:00 noon on Saturday March 3, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Anniston, AL and a memorial service will take place at 1:00PM following the visitation.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Richard L Burke; her children Kelly Waide (Hank), Tracy Gibbs (John), and Scott Burke (Juanita); her grandchildren Jacob Clopton, Patrick Clopton, Lacey Blackwell, Britney Page, Jayden Gibbs, Ciara Burke, Jessica Burke, Loren Burke, and Ashley Burke; and her ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Lewis McCoy; her mother Sally Irene McCoy, and her sister Candy Saunders.
Linda was born in Lima, OH on November 22, 1942. She grew up in Sidney, NE and moved to Anniston, AL in 1967. In 1978 she received her GED and worked as a seamstress for various local sewing plants and later worked for Anniston Newchannels (currently CABLEONE). After retiring from the cable company she enjoyed many hobbies which included reading, sewing, jewelry/craft making, shopping, and watching gameshows. Linda loved her family and friends, and enjoyed spending time with them. She is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Anniston, AL.
The family would like to express special thanks to all of the staff at Gadsden Health & Rehab Center, Gadsden Regional Medical Center MICU, and Regency Pointe for all of the care and attention that was given to Linda and her family during her illness.
In lieu of flowers memorials/donations can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
