Funeral services for Gregory Lynn Carnes, 60, of Hokes Bluff, who passed away on July 8, 2018 will be 3:00 PM Wednesday at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel. Rev. Bruce Jenkins, Russell Addison & Paul Elliott will officiate. Burial will follow at Young’s Chapel Church Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery is in charge of the services.
Mr. Carnes was a 1976 graduate of Hokes Bluff High School. He was a member of Young’s Chapel Congregational Methodist Church where he was leader of the Men’s Group. He was the co-owner of Fords Valley Logistics. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood work and riding his tractor. Most of all he enjoyed his children, grandchildren, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Hoyt and Mary Evelyn (Davis) Carnes, father-in-law; John F. Bussey and brother; Charles Ray Carnes.
He is survived by his wife; Donna (Bussey) Carnes, children; Maria (Billy) Hutt, Sommer Carnes Carter, Nick (Samantha) Carnes, grandchildren; Whitney, Hunter, Maegan, Dakota, Alex, Lexi, Olivia, Noah, and Shawn, brother; Larry (Lynn) Carnes, sister; Charlotte (Bobby) Peek, mother-in-law; Janis Bussey, sister-in-law; Saundra Carnes and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brian Peek, Keith Peek, Starling (Buddy) Hardwick III, Jake Carnes, Mason Carnes, Allen Jones, Justin Bussey and John Morgan Rogers.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Young’s Chapel Congregational Methodist Church and the employees of Fords Valley Logistics and DM Trucking.
Special thanks to Billy Nail, T. D. Mayhall, Bobby Geer, Angela, Eddie Elliott, Kim and Lyle Oden. We would also like to thank all of our family and friends for all of the love, support, help, and prayers during this time.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Youth Group at Young’s Chapel Congregational Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
