Franklin Junior Johnson
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday October 27, 2018 at Glencoe Hokes Bluff Chapel for Franklin Junior Johnson, age, 61, of Wellington, who passed away on October 24, 2018. Pastor William Cain and Brother Tommy Hutt will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home and Cemetery is in charge of services.
Junior was a devoted Christian who never faltered to profess his love of Christ and witness to others. He had a love for farming and enjoyed not only his animals but also being on a tractor whether working in the hayfield, bush hogging a pasture or digging sand from the creek in the bottoms. He had so much love for his family and friends and was someone who could be truly relied upon. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father: Curtis Johnson; 3 baby brothers: Melvin Scott, Milton Ray and David Lamar; grandparents: Alfred and Sallie Summers; Samford Lee and Coreen Johnson.
He is survived by his loving wife: Violet Johnson; two daughters: Christina Johnson (Scotty Whitlock), Shanna (William) Wilson; mother: Lucille (Elijah) Mayfield; two grandbabies that was his entire world and love Hunter Scott and Trenton Floyd; siblings: Louise (Gary) Griffin, Ralph (Cathy) Johnson, Michael Landers, and Dave Landers; several aunts, uncles, cousins and long time friends as well as his church family at Asberry Baptist Church
Pallbearers will be Cody Garrard, Justin Garrard, Michael Turner, Shane Walden, Jonathan Green, Derek Turner, Lee Hayes, Danny Summers and Miguel Jimenez.
Special thanks to his best friend Ray Johnson and dear friend Judith Fortenberry, Webster’s Chapel Fire Department and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5-7 pm.
