Anthony L. Daugherty Big “A”
Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday March 13, 2018 at Hokes Bluff Cemetery for Anthony L. Daugherty Big “A”, age, 74, of Altoona, formerly of Hokes Bluff, who passed away on March 9, 2018. Rev. Roy Daugherty and Rev. Todd Clough will officiate. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home and Cemetery is in charge of services.
He was a 1962 graduate of Etowah High School, he was retired from Republic Steel, he was a member of Gospel Temple, for a number of years he coached Hokes Bluff Youth Football, he was a Avid Alabama Football Fan, he enjoyed playing golf and going fishing but most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Elizabeth Morgan Daugherty and daughter Toni Daugherty Snell.
He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Daugherty, children; Cliff (Donna) Daugherty and Ron Daugherty, step-children; Kerry (Jessy) Goble, Lisa (Ben) Burns, grandchildren; Greyson, Reece, Raynlee Daugherty, Lacey Daugherty, Heidi and Chase Cato, Jake, Carson, Kai Goble and Drake Compton, one great-grandchild; Kyleigh Compton, brothers; Phenias (Jeanie) Daugherty, Roy (Becky) Daugherty, Larry (Pam) Daugherty and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Rod Morris, Mark Driskell, Tim Hunt, Jason Coffman, Matt Griffith and Mark Hunt.
Honorary pallbearers will be the late Bill Akin, all the Athletes he helped raise with Ron, Cliff and Toni and all his golfing and Mold Shed buddies.
Special thanks to Jerry Meeks roommate at Gadsden Health Care, Southern Care Hospice and Riverview Regional Medical Center CCU Doctors and Staff.
There will be no visitation.
