Thomas Michael “Mike” Penney

 

A Reception of Remembrance will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 11 a.m until 1 p.m. at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Chapel for Mr. Thomas Michael “Mike” Penney, age 67, of Boaz who passed away Monday, November 20, 2017.  Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home and Cemetery is in charge of services.

 

Mr. Penney was a native and resided most of his life in Glencoe and resided the past 10 years in Boaz.  He was a proud member of “Big Sky” Hunting Club.  Mr. Penney was a retired truck driver and poultry farmer.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Mr. Penney dearly loved his Grandchildren, Family, and Friends.

 

Mr. Penney was preceded in death by his Mother, Mary Penney.

 

He was survived by his wife of 48 years, Sandra Penney; Daughter, Genia Penney Osborne; Son, Shay (Emily) Penney; Brother, Jimmy (Jane) Penney; Father, James Penney, Sr.; Sisters: Nila (Brian) Holland and Norma (Bill) Schiffman; Grandchildren: Derek Edwards, Hunter Penney, Lana Penney, and Conner Penney; Great-Grandchildren: Hazel and Kelley; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of Big Sky Hunting Club.

 

Special Thanks to Jay Beggs, Jamie Anthony, Matt Rose, and all other Amedisys Hospice Nurses and Staff; and UAB Bone Marrow Transplant Unit.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Parkinson Association of Alabama, P.O. Box 590146, Birmingham, AL 35259 and/or UAB Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, 619 19th Street S.W., Birmingham, AL 35211.
