Richard was a protective, loving, and faithful husband, father, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cathy, his children, Joshua and Matthew, his daughter-in-law, Kimberly, and his grandson, Cameron. Also his brother, Jim Harper; sister, Debbie Davis; his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, mother-in-law, Arlene Bowman; and many nieces and nephews.
He would quickly tell you his name is Richard, not Wilfred. He loved attending sports events his boys were participating in, motorcycles, and being at home.
His life was radically changed when he became a Christian at the age of 19. He loved serving in the ministry. Over his lifetime, he was a pastor, headmaster of a Christian school, counselor, associate pastor and administrator. He loved going on missions trips. He loved worshipping the Lord. Now, he is getting to experience worship firsthand.
Pallbearers will be: Jim Harper, Al Straarup, Jerry Arnold, Ben Davis, Matt Mathis, Ronnie George, Geoff Arnold and Wesley Arnold.
Special thanks to Dr. Jason Junkins and Amedisys Hospice Care; and many great family members and friends who faithfully prayed for him during his illness.
