God has a new angel at his side today. Margaret Payton received her wings and left this earth on October 12, 2017.
She was born January 20, 1921 to Luther and Bell Maxwell.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home and Cemetery on October 14, 2017. Rev. Rick Luallan will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home and Cemetery is in charge of services.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Payton, her parents, seven brothers and five sisters.
To cherish their many loving memories, she is survived by her sister Martha Henderson, brothers Bob Maxwell and Odell Maxwell, her children Mildred (Johnnie) Stokes, Loretta (Curtis) Hale, Don (Ann) Payton, Stella (Mike) Gattis and Nadine (Terry) Willett. Grandchildren Tammi (Rickey) Maxwell, Johnnie (Renee) Stokes, Bo (Julie) Gattis, Rusty Willett and Trina Willett. Great-grandchildren Alaina Maxwell, Rickey Maxwell, Brianna Willett, Cayse Willett and many special nieces, nephews and other family that she loved dearly.
Chosen grandchildren Mindy (Braden) Phillip, Cassie Carter, Leslie Third, Danielle Poe and Tanya Ary.
Special friends Margarette Martin, Earl and Sandra Dunn, Elaine Parker, Barbara Pavey, Lois Garmon, Pat Holloway and her friends and neighbors at Melodie Meadows Apartments.
Pallbearers will be Don Payton, Curtis Hale, Rusty Willett, Johnnie Stokes Jr., Roderick Harden, Rickey Maxwell Sr. and Rickey Maxwell Jr.
Special thanks to Comfort Care Hospice staff who gave us great service and especially Alex Morris whom Mother came to call granddaughter.
She lived a long and happy life. She met and be-friended many people who loved her and many grew to call her Granny Doodle. She will be missed more than anyone will ever know by family and friends but she was ready to be reunited with her husband, parents, siblings and other family members who had gone to heaven before her.
Visitation will be Friday October 13, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.
